The heart of André M. musiek is the believe in that music should serve a bold purpose!

For the André M brand, whether exploring Dance, Trance, Rock, Pop, Rap, Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Disco, Folk, Metal, or any musical genre, the universal language and essence of music forge connections among people worldwide through purposeful compositions. South African Music, fondly known as “lekker Afrikaanse musiek” locally, can be likened to a well-crafted coffee blend—meaningful, bold, uplifting, inspiring, enticing, and rich in character.

The allure of music lies in its unique ability to captivate listeners through elements such as tonality (timbre), movement, composition, melody, perfect harmony, and rhythm. Yet, above all, the essence of a song resides in its message; without a pure and resonant message, the music lacks true meaning. As expressed in Psalm 96: 1-3 (The Passion Translation), music serves as a powerful vessel for delivering messages that touch the heart and soul. “Go ahead — sing your new song to the Lord! Let everyone in every language sing him a new song. Don’t stop! Keep on singing! Make his name famous! Tell everyone every day how wonderful He is. Give them the good news of our great Savior.”

Heart resides in the craft of the blend

God’s will is for people to be awake and alert, not sleepy and tired. The means which He provides for bringing about His will in the lives of His people seems to be the “beverage” that causes trembling, so “coffee” is perceived here as the means of grace for accomplishing His divine will. As a devout Christian songwriter, music artist and composer, I frequently categorize exceptional Praise and Worship songs into these three metaphorical coffee blends …

The story of André M. musiek

My music ministry as solo artist started late 2019, just before the Covid19 pandemic hit the world, after I was commissioned along with two other members in the worship team, to each write songs for our Church’s annual Christmas carols by candlelight evening. The heart of my song Allermooiste Tyd written in Afrikaans, found favor with many as the message “God with us, always” became a beacon of hope into the midst of 2020.

Heartfully roasted & brewed

André M. musiek’s first song released for 2021, called Sefanja. The song was inspired by Zephaniah chapter 3 which meant so much to me as I read it, specifically how God’s love for those who seek Him remains steadfast, how He gathers the troubled and changes their destiny and gives them glory and honor, but also how the Lord will cleanse the lips of the peoples that all will call on Him.

The song Sefanja is divided into:

Verse 1: The heart of the Father.
Verse 2: The heart of the Son, Jesus Christ.
Verse 3: The heart of the Holy Spirit.

Chorus and bridge: verse 17 of the chapter; “God that rejoices over you”, rendered “I dance over you.”

God is dancing, singing and rejoicing over you!

“The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”

But if we go bit earlier in the chapter, verse 14 God desires the same from us: “Sing, Daughter Zion; shout aloud, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, Daughter Jerusalem!”

Feed your heart & soul only with the finest coffee

Life is too short to have “bad” coffee, just as with music. Fill your heart with music that does not move or stir your spirit, will only leave a bitter aftertaste and emptiness in your soul.

Fill your heart with purposeful songs on the other hand, will make you crave to be filled with more goodness, which only God can fill your cup with, and He will pour abundantly until your cup runs over.
